What are the activities to do in Lyon?
Lyon is a town located in the southeast of France, at the confluence of the Rhone and Saone rivers. It is a geographical crossroads, north of the natural corridor of the Rhone valley between the Massif Central (west) and the Alps (east). Juste imagine all the opportunities for extreme sports!
Lyon is the third largest French city and a huge playground for sports of all kinds. Of course, in the city center you will find the hills of Fourvière and Croix Rousse where you can settle for urban sports like skateboarding, longboarding and rollerblading. Fortunately, the beauty of the architecture, especially in the old town, is a perfect setting to try the "street" adventure.
However, the real asset of the city is its location, right in the middle of two mountain ranges: the Auvergne and the Alps. So, naturally, it leaves you with a large choice of outdoor sports during both winter and summer!
Resorts in the Alps are open for all of you looking for activities such as: skiing, snowboarding, freeriding, ice climbing and more. With the first days of summer, come mountain biking and climbing in the same resorts.
In Auvergne, as in the Alps, the streams and rivers are a great opportunity to practice canyoning or white water sports such as rafting, canoeing, hydrospeed... and much more!
