Aerobatics in Tahiti offers a rare fusion of technical mastery and natural splendour, inviting adventurers to experience the island’s legendary beauty from a perspective few ever witness. As your aircraft climbs above the turquoise lagoon, the jagged silhouette of Mount Orohena rises inland, while the coral reefs shimmer in shifting shades of blue and green below. The light here is vivid and ever-changing, casting the coastlines of Punaauia and the distant outline of Moorea in a soft, golden haze. Practising aerial acrobatics above French Polynesia is not simply about the thrill of flight; it is about immersing yourself in a landscape where ocean, mountain, and sky converge in a spectacle of colour and movement.

Taking to the skies over Tahiti for aerobatic flight is an experience defined by contrasts. The initial ascent is serene, with the gentle hum of the engine blending with the warm, humid air and the faint scent of frangipani drifting from the island below. Once at altitude, your instructor guides the aircraft through a series of precise manoeuvres—loops, rolls, and spins—each one amplifying the sensation of weightlessness and the rush of wind against the canopy. Between moments of exhilarating action, there are quiet intervals where you float above the lagoon, the only sound the distant surf breaking on the reef. The terrain beneath shifts from lush rainforest to volcanic peaks and sparkling coastline, creating a constantly evolving panorama that heightens every sensation.

Local guides in Tahiti are seasoned professionals, trained to international standards and deeply familiar with the island’s unique flying conditions. Each flight is led by a licensed instructor who provides thorough briefings, ensures all safety protocols are met, and adapts the experience to your comfort and skill level. Modern aerobatic aircraft are meticulously maintained and equipped with dual controls, allowing for both demonstration and hands-on participation under expert supervision. The outdoor culture in Tahiti values respect for nature and community, and this spirit is reflected in the careful planning and warm welcome extended to every participant. All necessary gear, from headsets to safety harnesses, is provided, and logistics are managed with efficiency and care, whether you depart from Faa’a International Airport or a smaller local airstrip.

Aerobatics in Tahiti is accessible to most people in good physical health, including beginners eager to discover the world of stunt flying. While no prior experience is required, participants should be comfortable with dynamic motion and moderate G-forces. The tropical climate allows for flights year-round, though the dry season from May to October offers the clearest skies and most stable conditions. Whether you are a first-time flyer, an aviation enthusiast, or a traveller seeking a new perspective on the island, aerobatic flights can be tailored to your level of confidence and curiosity.

To experience the thrill of aerobatic flight above Tahiti’s iconic landscapes is to see the island anew, with every turn and dive revealing another facet of its natural beauty. Let Manawa connect you with trusted local instructors and an unforgettable aerial adventure, where the spirit of French Polynesia meets the art of flight.

We were so lucky the day we went out to have the opportunity to swim with a very curious junior humpback whale! He stayed with us for about 20-25 minutes and it was incredible. We were also the only boat with the whale at the time. I think it's important to emphasize (1) being comfortable snorkeling fast for quite a distance in open ocean is key to getting to the whales to enjoy your time with them; and (2) the type of contact we had this day is not the norm but, perhaps, the exception. We had an opportunity on two other occasions (with two other outfitters) to swim with whales and both times we ended up in the water but didn't get close to the whales, and we had friends who did a whale swim with yet another outfitter and didn't end up in the water although they saw whales from the boat. Any opportunity to see whales swimming in the open water is a unique opportunity and well worth it.

Well balanced adventure and fun. Definitely took us to the places we would never be able to go by ourselves. The hike, the big surf, the cave, all amazing experiences.
