A river system with a difference, travel to the heart of Mont Avic Natural Park and conquer the currents of the Chalamy torrent on this all-action canyoning excursion.
A whitewater day out packed with breathtaking jumps, technical descents, and challenging climbs, the Aosta Valley is where serious canyoneers and everyday enthusiasts meet to enjoy the full force of Mother Nature, in a river system suited to all capabilities.
Location
Situated near the border with France and Switzerland, Mont Avic Natural Park is nestled in the heart of the Aosta Valley - 2 hours drive from Turin. Stretching 5,747 hectares it reaches the mountain ridges of the Val Soana and the Valle di Cogne, the canyon system is located near Verrés and services by a small shuttle service.
Activity
A 4-hour canyoning course suited to all ages, this activity is recommended for confident swimmers. Accessed via a 20-minute nature trail, there are many optional jumps and descents using natural slides. During the full day activity, you will be required to abseil down waterfalls up to 30m, swim through fast flowing water, operate simple belay systems and navigate diverse terrain over 1.5km.
Conditions
Chalamy Torrent is a tributary of the Dora Baltea River to Champdepraz and includes many deep pools, waterfall overhangs, and fast flowing slides.
Children under 14 yrs must be accompanied by an adult.
Parental permission necessary for all children under 18.
Activity not suitable for expectant mothers.
Time and route subject to change depending on weather conditions.
