Activity description
Embark upon a winter snowshoe trail to the iconic Trolltunga rock! Our guides will keep you safe as you venture to one of the most famous precipices in Norway.
The adventure begins at the meeting point at Trolltunga Active Base in Skjeggedal. There, we will provide you with your snowshoes and hiking poles. Then, you will follow your guide up the tricky mountains of Hardanger on the quest for one of Norway's most iconic viewpoints. Your guide will be equipped with avalanche equipment and a first aid kit so the group is prepared for any potential issue along the ever-changing winter trail. They are experts on this route to Trolltunga, and as long as you follow their advice, you are sure to enjoy a stress-free and beautiful snowshoe hike up to the fjord peak.
Once you've arrived at Trolltunga, there will be time to celebrate your up-hill efforts, take lots of pictures, and enjoy an iconic view of the fjord, which looks so special during the winter months.
Finally, after you've breathed in plenty of fresh Norwegian mountain air, it will be time to venture back down, carefully. This snowshoe hike follows one of the most iconic routes of Norway, and, with the security of an expert guide, it is definitely worth the trek!
The route is a total of approximately 28 km (17 miles) with 800m ascent (0.5 miles).
