Activity description
A legendary canyoning adventure in the Maggia valley near Locarno. A wet playground for all ages in a stunning gorge: amazing abseils, lengthy slides, and some fantastic jumps, all while being accessible to the daring beginning!
The Valley Grande Gorge is ideal for canyoning beginners because the difficulties increase gradually while still providing enough adrenaline for "Old hands": high jumps (which can also be abseiled down), natural water slides, and an exhilarating descent through the colorful stone walls make the gorge versatile and varied. Highlights include the incredible rappel down the 25-meter-high waterfall, dubbed "mini Niagara," and the big finale, the "barrel of a gun" - be prepared to be astonished!
Jumps up to 10 m, few but racy slides up to 10 m, abseils up to just under 30m.
Access time: approx. 40-50 minutes.
Course of events
Before hitting the water, you will receive a complete safety briefing and practice canyon procedures before descending down one of Ticino's most beautiful and diverse canyons.
Jumps, slides, descents up to over 30 meters, and crystal-clear pools combine for a once-in-a-lifetime thrill!
MINIMUM AGE: 12 years if accompanied by an adult, for youth groups 14 years
Special terms
Prerequisites: basic swimming ability, surefootedness, canyoning or climbing experience.
Not suitable for pregnant women.
