Activity description

Venture into the great outdoors with the sporty rafting descent of the Sunwapta River and discover truly breathtaking scenery in Alberta! Under the eyes of your expert guides, you will venture into the heart of nature, in an idyllic setting!

Choose between the pickup option or find the guides directly on site. You will get to know them, they will explain the activity to you and present you with the necessary rafting equipment. The rafts will be assigned to you and the guides will answer any questions you may have! Once the trip is finished, you will put on the rafting equipment and listen carefully to the safety instructions. You can help transport the rafts to the river if you wish, then you will begin your supervised rafting descent on the mighty Sunwapta River in the Canadian Rockies!

The rafting descent of the Sunwapta River begins with some class I and II passages for about ten minutes before joining the class III passages. It's time to take the plunge, sensations guaranteed! You will then enjoy breathtaking landscapes, but also significant waves and splashes! Photos will be taken so that you can keep a memorable memory of this rafting descent at Sunwapta. You will be able to retrieve these photos from the website if you wish. Your trip ends with the Whopper, a famous wave in the region!

For almost an hour, you will explore the currents of the class III river...

- Safety briefing and departure for 1 hour 15 minutes of rafting on the Sunwapta River

- Passage through calm sections of class I water and turbulent sections of class II and class III white water as well as the Whopper

- Transfer to your car and end of the activity

Activity requirements

To take part in this activity, participants must be comfortable in the water. Knowing how to swim is not compulsory, but all participants will get wet.

Please arrive 15min before the start of the activity.

Waivers must be signed to participate and can be done digitally on arrival.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Special terms

You can leave your personal belongings in your car, or take them with you in a backpack.

If you wish, you can buy the photos (5 to 8 shots) of your activity online via PicThrive at the end of your activity for an extra $40 ($20 for just 2 photos): the photos are taken at the start of the activity and during one of the biggest splashes on the course, and will be shown to you on your IPad at the end of the experience.
