About the activity

Discover dog sledding in Québec and experience the magic of a true Canadian winter! Just an hour’s drive from Montréal, escape to the snowy landscapes of Saint-Liguori and let a team of Nordic dogs guide you through the region’s iconic plains and forests.

Led by passionate, certified guides, this introduction to dog sledding offers not only breathtaking views of Québec’s winter scenery but also a deep dive into the fascinating world of these canine athletes. Your adventure begins at the kennel in Saint-Leguori, where you’ll meet the dogs and receive a hands-on introduction to sled preparation and driving. It’s the perfect moment to bond with your furry teammates, who are eager to dash through the snow by your side.

You’ll then choose between two formats:

The 1-hour ride takes you along groomed trails through forests and open fields, followed by a warm drink and cuddles with the dogs back at the base.

The 1.5-hour version includes a 30-minute break in a cozy, wood-heated cabin deep in the forest. Around a crackling fire, you’ll enjoy maple taffy on snow, a delicious taste of Québec tradition.

During the activity, you’ll ride two per sled, with one driving, the other enjoying the ride as a passenger. You’ll have the chance to switch roles along the way so everyone gets a turn at the reins. Each team of 4 to 6 dogs travels at an average speed of 10 to 15 km/h, offering both excitement and harmony with nature.

Safety and guidance are at the heart of this experience. Each lead guide has at least four years of dog sledding experience, with some boasting over a decade of practice. All are certified in first aid and hold the official AEQ “Guide d’attelage canin” certification. Throughout the excursion, you’ll be accompanied by a guide leading the way with their own team, overseeing up to two sleds behind, while another guide follows on snowmobile to ensure group safety. Outings are limited to small groups of five to six sleds, around twelve participants, split into subgroups for a more personal experience.

Located just an hour from Montréal, the Saint-Liguori farm welcomes you in a warm and authentic setting. Free parking is available on-site, and a welcoming area with restrooms is provided for participants. Open to children aged 8 and up, this activity is ideal for anyone in good physical condition looking for an unforgettable winter adventure.

Blending cultural discovery, northern immersion, and heartwarming moments with the dogs, this dog sledding excursion in Saint-Liguori near Montréal is the perfect way to enjoy Québec’s snowy landscapes and create lasting memories!

If there isn't enough snow for this activity to take place, your guide will take you on the same excursion in a cani-kart, with a kart on wheels instead of a snow sled (1 hour excursion only). The excursion will last the same length of time, and you'll also enjoy a hot drink and snack at the end.

I never drove a dog sled before - letting me drive bymyself was surprising but big fun! Took me a few manovers to become more selfsecure. Loved it. Be aware of the risks every sport owns.
