Speed skating is the ideal ice sport for thrills in the city, and it is waiting for you at the Centre de glaces of Québec on the Gaétan-Bouche Ring, a 400-metre indoor ice ring - Olympic size! The only indoor ring in Eastern Canada, don't miss this opportunity to discover ice skating in Quebec City, and what's more, in the company of top-level athletes to introduce you to the sport and advise you.
For 1 to 2 hours, you will learn the basics of speed skating at the Centre de glaces of Québec, a discipline that requires you to already know how to skate on ice. You will be equipped with a helmet and long-blade skates, which you can rent from the centre's reception desk, and then take to the Gaétan-Bouche oval to learn speed skating in complete safety from your qualified instructors.
Held indoors at a temperature of between 12 and 15°C, you will get the most out of your speed skating discovery private course in Quebec City in summer or winter!

Practical information
Private speed skating discovery lesson: you will be alone with your group of friends/family during the course
- Welcome 30 minutes before the start of the activity at the centre reception desk
- Collection of helmets and ice skates (to rent for $12), and briefing on the rules inside the centre
- Put on your speed skating equipment and meeting with the instructor on the ice
- Briefing on the course and safety instructions
- Departure for 1 to 2 hours of introduction to speed skating
- End of the course, return of equipment to reception and end of the experience
Please arrive at the centre reception desk with your confirmation email at least 30 minutes before the start of the activity.
Knowing how to skate on ice is compulsory for this activity.
You will need to rent your helmet and long-blade skates from reception ($12 to pay on the spot), but you can also bring your own speed skating equipment if you have it.
Meeting place: use Entrance 1 at 999 De Rochebelle Avenue, Quebec City (QC) - easily accessible by public transport.
On weekday mornings, introductory speed skating sessions will take place on the Courte-Piste rink.
If you simply want to discover ice skating, opt for free skating at the Centre de glaces.
