Practical information
Please allow a good half-day's activity (5 to 6 hours), including:
- an introductory dive in the pool,
- a 40-minute first dive in a natural environment, to a maximum depth of 6 metres,
- a 40-minute dive at the Museo Atlántico, to a maximum depth of 12 metres.
Course of events
- Welcome at the Dawn Dives Academy dive centre in Playa Blanca, where you will find showers, changing rooms, toilets and lockers for your personal belongings
- Wetsuit equipment
- Theoretical briefing on the basics of scuba diving
- Introductory dive in the centre's pool to familiarise yourself with the equipment and the basics of underwater communication
- Walk to the beach for your first dive
- Gradual launch with 2 divers for 1 instructor
- Immersion for approximately 40 minutes, to a depth of 6 metres
- Short break in the centre for a bite to eat
- Transfer by minibus, then by boat to the Museo Atlántico diving site (approx. 25 minutes in total)
- Launch from the boat with 2 divers for 1 instructor
- Immersion for around 40 minutes, at depths of up to 12 metres
- Return on board the boat, then to the minibus to return to the centre (around 25 minutes in total)
- Back at the centre, you can take a shower to finish the activity
Activity requirements
You don't need to be able to swim to take part in this activity.
Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity.
You must not have any medical contraindications to take part in this activity.

Normally open to divers with an Open Water Diver certificate or equivalent, the Museo Atlántico in Lanzarote is open to beginners too, thanks to this experience offered by Dawn Dives. As well as discovering this incredible underwater museum, the only one of its kind in Europe, you will have the pleasure of first learning the basics of scuba diving during a pool initiation at the centre, followed by a first dive at Playa Blanca, directly from the Playa de Montaña Roja. A great half-day of adventures awaits you, between learning the fundamentals of scuba diving and discovering exceptional underwater landscapes in the heart of the Canary Islands!
Once you have completed your introductory dive in the pool and your first dive in Playa Blanca, you will head off for your dive at the Museo Atlántico de Lanzarote, THE diving site not to be missed by any scuba diving enthusiast. After your 40-minute first dive in Playa Blanca, during which you will get used to the absence of gravity, breathing through a regulator and the silence that surrounds you beneath the surface, you will be able to make the most of your 40-minute dive at the Museo Atlántico. Accompanied by 1 instructor for 2 divers, you will take part in this experience in complete safety, and in optimum conditions to get the most out of this exceptional moment!
