Practical information
In a small group, aboard a fully equipped 10-metre boat and in the company of a passionate captain, you'll explore the jewels of the Gulf of Porto, between unspoilt nature and UNESCO-listed landscapes.
From the port of Porto (hamlet of Ota), you'll embark on an exceptional adventure to discover the Calanques de Piana, the Scandola Nature Reserve and the isolated village of Girolata. Throughout the trip, the captain will share anecdotes and explanations about the sites visited, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The first part of the excursion will take you to the Bay of Elbo and the Scandola Reserve, a protected marine sanctuary. You'll sail at a slow speed so as not to miss any of the wild coves, natural caves and impressive cliffs. Note, however, that during the osprey nesting season, some caves may be inaccessible in order to preserve the local fauna. And to respect the balance of this unique ecosystem, swimming is not permitted in the reserve.
After this immersion in nature, head for the village of Girolata, accessible only by sea or on foot. Stop off here for 30 minutes to stroll through the narrow streets or admire the view.
Then it's on to Capo Rosso and its natural swimming pool, with a break for a swim in a wild cove if conditions permit. The return journey to Porto will take you along the majestic Calanques de Piana: arches, caves, red cliffs... and, with a bit of luck, a few dolphins will punctuate this magical moment.
There are three departures to suit you: in the morning to take advantage of a calmer sea and maximise your chances of spotting dolphins, while avoiding the heat of peak hours; around 1pm, ideal if you have a bit of driving to do before arriving in Porto; and finally around 4pm, to savour the golden light at the end of the day on the cliffs and share a drink on the way back, in the gentle atmosphere of the sunset.
If you're staying in the Porto or Piana region, don't wait any longer to embark on a must-do boat trip, with its UNESCO-listed sites, wild coves and some of Corsica's most spectacular seascapes.
