Looking to discover the ocean coastline of Manuel Antonio on a Stand Up Paddleboard? Paddle9 has the perfect excursion for you!
The volcanic coastline of Manuel Antonio offers a dramatic setting where high cliffs meet the turquoise expanse of the Pacific. Navigating these waters on a paddleboard provides an unparalleled perspective of the landscape, looking back at the dense primary rainforest from the sea. The area around Maracas Bay is characterized by its rugged rock formations and hidden coves that are completely inaccessible by land. As you glide along the coast, the elevated position of the Stand Up Paddleboard allowd you to look down through the ocean surface to spot marine life such as manta rays and sea turtles that remain hidden to those sitting lower in the water.
This Stand Up Paddling excursion at Manuel Antonio area is an immersive journey into the marine biodiversity of Costa Rica. Led by certified naturalist guides from Paddle 9, the expedition takes you past nesting sites for marine birds like Magnificent Frigatebirds and Brown Boobies. The open ocean provides a dynamic environment where you can often spot playful spotted dolphins and, during the migration seasons, the magnificent humpback whales breaching in the distance. The route includes a dedicated stop at a pristine, secluded beach where the group can pull the boards ashore to swim in the warm Pacific waters or explore the untouched shoreline.
Before launching, the guides give thourough explanations on SUP paddling, including proper foot placement, core balance, and efficient stroke techniques. The instructors actively coach you through the rolling swells to ensure you feel confident and stable throughout the journey. Small group sizes are strictly maintained to guarantee personalized attention and maximum safety. To refuel, fresh tropical fruit snacks such as pineapple and watermelon are prepared by the guides during the beach break, allowing for a moment of total relaxation in a wild setting.
The safari operates twice daily throughout the year, departing from both Quepos and Manuel Antonio. With full technical equipment provided, this tour is the ultimate way to combine light adventure with expert marine observation.
