Costa Rica is also known for its world-renowned canopy tours. Imagine flying through the treetops hundreds of meters in the air, with an opportunity to observe the diverse fauna!

There are a number of ways to explore the tree-tops of Monteverde that will provide you unique aerial panoramas of the forest. However, the most popular form is the zip-line canopy; a practice with 16 strong steel cables strung between old and extremely strong trees. You are released through the forest from tree to tree along these lines through a safety harness.

Over the course of your outing you'll use the adrenaline inducing cable systems, the longest is 1030 meters! You'll also try the popular 'tarzan swing', a firmly attached rope hovering over a huge cliff, from where you fall freely and swing.

The best thing about this outing is the unparalleled views of the lush beauty - not many places can boast such scenery. The trip takes about 2.5 hours.

Monteverde
Without a doubt, the most famous canopy tours are in the Monteverde Cloud Forest. This region is located on the Continental Divide of Costa Rica, at an altitude of 1,440 metres, producing a very thick and cold cloud layer. Here, there are more than 500 species of animals and 2,500 species of plants – and you can be sure to find some of them during this adventure.

This canopy tour over the Cloud Forest in the Monteverde Extreme Park includes ziplines, Superman cables, a Tarzan Swing, and many more features that will take you above the Cloud Forest and show you the stunning view with adrenaline-inducing activities.

Course of events

- Arrival at meeting point and introduction to your guide

- Safety briefing and equipment set-up

- You will encounter:

  • Ziplines ranging between a height of 75 metres to 150 metres.
  • A 30-meter abseil
  • The "Tarzan swing"
  • The Superman cable of 1 km and
  • Subterranean Superman, 190-meter long tunnel under the mountain

- Equipment return and end of activity
