Elounda bay is famous for its crystal clear calm waters. As the bay is closed and protected from the waves of the Aegean sea, the conditions are great for sea kayaking.

You have two options:
1) you can rent a sea kayak and paddle on your own in any direction you like
2) you can book a guided tour towards Spinalonga island

Both options are great depending on your tastes. You will enjoy great views of the island of Spinalonga and Elounda bay while sea kayaking.

If you move in the direction of the island of Kolokytha, you will find top beaches, even a beach that was once voted the best beach in the world!

It was a fun sea kayaking tour; we went out to Spinalonga (or rather to a little spot close to the island) where we stopped for a swim or to collect some shells. If it weren't for the wind we could have gone around Spinalonga in our kayaks.
