Embark on an adventurous guided scuba dive excursion in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea from Paphos, Cyprus. This activity is for experienced scuba divers only, from ages 10 and up!
Paphos is a city located on the southwest coast of Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean. The city was once the capital of Cyprus during the Roman period and is known for its archaeological sites, including ancient ruins, tombs, and mosaics. Scuba diving is popular in Paphos due to the region's crystal-clear waters and diverse marine life.
This scuba dive adventure begins at the dive centre in Paphos. You will meet the PADI-certified instructor and receive all of the scuba diving equipment (wetsuit, mask, fins, snorkel, regulator and tank). For this activity, you have the option of a single dive or a two-tank dive package. You must have at least a Scuba Diver or equivalent certification to partake in the dive. After a quick safety briefing and equipment check, you’ll head to the dive site!
There are several exciting dive sites to choose from in Paphos, depending on your experience level and preference. The common dive sites from the boat are Airport Reef, Vera-K, Amphorae Caves and Achilleas. If you prefer diving from the shore, you may visit White River, Church Bay or Amphitheatre. Once you are in the water, the guide will go through hand signals and checks. Then, it’s time to dive beneath the surface and discover a whole new world! Diving conditions in the Mediterranean are excellent, with warm temperatures almost all year round and great visibility due to the clear waters.
Depending on the dive site, you may explore ancient shipwrecks, abandoned anchors, or archaeological ruins. There are also secluded underwater caves and coves, as well as interesting rock formations at these sites. Paphos is also well known for its diverse marine life. While exploring the underwater world, you may spot loggerhead and green sea turtles, schools of colourful fish, moray eels, octopuses, rays, and lobsters hiding in the rocky reefs. At the end of your adventure dive, you’ll return to the dive centre in Paphos.
