Cyprus is a popular island country located in the Eastern Mediterranean. This scuba dive excursion takes place in Paphos, a city located on the southwestern coast of Cyprus. Paphos is known for its stunning beaches, archaeological sites, and picturesque landscapes.

For this excursion, you will receive some eLearning material to read before the day of your dive. This contains essential information that will ensure your safety underwater. Please make sure you have completed the eLearning product before the start of the activity. 

Upon arrival at the base camp in Paphos, the certified instructors will give you a more practical initiation to the world of scuba diving. Together, you will go over what you have learnt, discover the equipment, and answer any questions or doubts you may have. Once everyone is confident, you will try out the scuba diving equipment (wetsuit, mask, fins, snorkel, regulator and tank) in the centre's swimming pool, learn to get comfortable with breathing underwater and practice all the different security measures you need to know.

When you are ready, you will head out to the Mediterranean Sea to the training site at the Roman Wall, located just 100m from the dive centre. The dive site takes its name from the submerged wall which was once the foundation for the Roman Harbour. Paphos was a main shipping area for cargo boats during the Roman era. Here, you will dive directly from the shore, and experience your first-ever sea dive! Diving in the Mediterranean is one of the best places to do a scuba diving initiation. The turquoise waters of Paphos offer perfect diving conditions, as well as wonderful marine life to discover.

Relax and enjoy the moment as you wade your way through the site, discovering ancient Roman Amphorae on the seabed and encrusted into the wall. The maximum depth of the dive is 6m (19ft), with three different areas. In the shallows, you'll often see schools of juvenile fish which are protected from the changing sea conditions. In the midsection, there are 3 huge anchors which came from ships that sank deep in the sea. In the deeper section, there are beautiful shell sculptures. In all the sections it is common to find Green and Loggerhead turtles! At the end of your discovery dive, you'll return to the dive centre in Paphos.
