Nestled in the heart of the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park, in Bellecombe-en-Bauges, the Pont du Diable Canyon offers one of the most complete canyoning routes around: jumps of up to 9 metres (all of which can be bypassed), abseils of up to 12 metres, natural water slides, and more. What really sets it apart, though, is a challenging stemming section to navigate a gorge, followed right at the end of the route by channels where you will need to swim. This is therefore a canyoning route suited to sporty, thrill-seeking participants (aged 12 and over, able to swim), and not for anyone who might hesitate at the thought of a single abseil!
Beyond its technical and exhilarating obstacles, the Pont du Diable Canyon is also renowned for its stunning setting. Cut into the rock, this enclosed canyon features passages no wider than 1 metre and emerald-green plunge pools. The water temperature, around 16°C, makes for a refreshingly cool experience that you will be perfectly comfortable with in your neoprene wetsuit. You will each be equipped with a helmet and harness, ensuring your safety at all times throughout the activity under the supervision of a qualified instructor. And a little bonus: Terreo Canyoning will provide you with photos from the session by that very evening!
The Pont du Diable Canyon sits roughly halfway between Annecy and Aix-les-Bains (around 30 to 35 minutes by road), right on the border between Savoie and Haute-Savoie. If you are looking for a canyon to explore in the area, this one is not to be missed!
