About the activity

During this introduction to self-drive dog sledding in Avoriaz, you will learn how to care for a team of 2 or 3 Nordic dogs (huskies and Greenland dogs) and how to steer them during a 2-hour excursion at the Col de la Joux Verte. Accompanied by an experienced musher, you will receive a quick and clear briefing on how to steer your sled, an experience accessible even to children from the age of 10 years old. With high-quality equipment, qualified mushers and a pack of adorable dogs, all you have to do is enjoy the incredible sensations offered by dog sledding in Avoriaz and the magnificent snow-covered landscapes of the Alps!

The experience will begin with a meeting with your four-legged companions, with whom you can bond for a short moment of sharing. After equipping them all with their harnesses and attaching them in groups, your small procession of sleds will set off for a 2-hour ride: between the descent towards Les Lindarets and the climb back up to the Col de la Joux Verte, during which you will have to help your team of dogs, you will have an incredible time discovering the thrill of driving a dog sled! You will have the pleasure of gliding through the heart of the forest, between tracks and powder snow, for a memorable adventure just 2 km from the resort of Avoriaz and about 30 minutes' drive from Morzine.

Booked this for our family of four as a surprise for my husbands 50th birthday. Well organised. Was nice to meet the dogs at the start, and to be hands on getting the harnesses on the dogs. There had been quite a bit of snowfall, so the dogs found it quite tough getting through the deeper snow. I spent half the time off my sled pushing through the snow, so you do need to be physically fit. It was a super experience and I'd fully recommend it.

What an experience. We all absolutely loved it. The dogs were so adorable and they were fantastic. We got there at 9.45 and it finished at 12.45 so took around 3 hours.
