Activity description

Take up the challenge in the mountains and learn the essentials of survival in Courchevel 1850!

Join an experienced guide in Savoie for a 24-hour guided winter survival course!

When you arrive at the meeting point in Courchevel, you'll meet your mountain guide, who will brief you on how this mountain survival course works. You'll then put on your equipment and set off for a hike in the Courchevel forest, taking in the magnificent scenery all around you. During this trip, a number of basic survival topics will be covered, including orientation, the main hazards (climate, avalanches, etc.), first aid, the use of avalanche transceivers and everything else you need to know on a survival course!

You will set up camp and build an igloo, share a meal around a fire with your qualified guide and then spend the night in a bivouac below the Col de la Loze.

The next morning, you'll enjoy a good breakfast, tidy up your base and make sure you haven't left any traces of your visit to protect the environment. You'll learn a few tricks for building a survival kit before setting off again on foot to reach the starting point of your hike and bring this survival course in Courchevel 1850 to a close.

Departure on Saturday at 12 noon, night in bivouac and return on Sunday at 12 noon.

Course of events

Day 1 :

- Arrive at meeting point at 12pm and meet guide

- Departure for a hike, learning essential survival skills

- Construction of an igloo and camp for the night

- Evening meal around the fire and bivouac

Day 2 :

- Breakfast and tidy up camp

- Walk back and learn essential survival skills

- Return to the meeting point and end of the activity at 12pm

Activity requirements

You must not have any medical contraindications to take part in this activity.

Being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity.

It is preferable to have already done avalanche transceiver search exercises and to have already bivouacked in the summer.
