A glacial limestone cirque surrounded by peaks some of which exceed 3,000 meters in altitude, the Cirque de Gavarnie is a sublime site in the heart of the Pyrénées, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bordered by the Mont Perdu massif on the Spanish border, it is home to one of Europe's highest waterfalls, the 422 meters high Grande Cascade de Gavarnie.
