For 1 or 2 days, come and discover what survival is all about near Montpellier during a course designed to teach you the basics of the discipline!

If you love nature and are looking for an unforgettable outdoor adventure in the Hérault department, this introductory survival course near Montpellier could be for you. Supervised by experienced instructors with a passion for survival, this fun and humane activity will teach you the basics of life in the great outdoors through a variety of modules, including how to pack your gear, find your bearings with or without equipment, take shelter, light a fire, etc. Even if you are not keen on survival, you will undoubtedly discover a real adventurer's soul during this course!

There are 3 types of survival course available near Montpellier, depending on what you want to do:

Awareness course - 1 day open to children aged 6 and over, to teach you the basics of independent survival in the great outdoors, near Frontignan;

Initiation course - a 2-day course to improve your survival skills and spend a night at Mont Saint-Baudille, near Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert;

Escape course - a 2-day themed course to brush up on the basics of survival while immersing yourself in a disaster scenario that will test the cohesion of your group with the sole aim of ensuring your survival!

A course designed to teach you the theoretical bases of independent living in the great outdoors

Objectives

- How to prepare your pack: how to choose your equipment, your food and how much, how to prepare your belongings, your survival kit, your first-aid kit, etc. What equipment and tools to take with you: what to prioritise?

- Learn the many techniques and materials you can use to build a fire in your environment (in partnership with the ONF and in compliance with the prefectoral decrees in force in the Hérault, no fires will be set during the course in view of the high fire risk)

- Learn how to take shelter: set up a quick shelter, secure a bivouac, etc.

- Learn how to find your bearings: how to use a compass, read a map, position yourself, follow a course, find your way back, find your bearings without equipment, etc.

- Discover the different solutions for recovering and treating water, and master the different ways of making water drinkable

Activity requirements

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

A 2-day, 1-night course aimed at reviewing and improving the fundamentals of independent living in the great outdoors, while putting vital procedures into practice

Objectives

- Reviewing the basics: what equipment and tools to take with you, keeping warm, managing hydration, finding your bearings and taking shelter

- Shelter: review or discover different techniques for setting up shelters. Setting up a quick shelter, securing a bivouac, etc.

- Thermal regulation: learn the basic principles of protection against heat and cold depending on the season, choose your clothing, etc.

- Stress management: diagnosing your stress, mastering and maintaining control, anticipating stress

- Technology: recharging your connected devices (GPS, phone, lights, etc.) in the great outdoors

- First aid kit and first aid with essential oils

- Advice on buying equipment

Activity requirements

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

You do not need to have taken part in the Awareness course before.

A 2-day, 1-night course on a specific theme, designed to help you evolve independently in the wilderness following the announcement of a disaster scenario

Objectives

- Reviewing the basics: what equipment and tools to take with you, keeping warm, managing hydration, finding your bearings and taking shelter

- Planning: adopting the right strategies for the group, preparing and distributing (the right) equipment, etc.

- Protecting yourself: assessing the situation, organising actions, ensuring your survival and that of your loved ones

- Finding your bearings: with or without a compass, day or night, etc.

- Shelter: choose the most suitable and safest places for your bivouacs and your group, find water, food, make a fire (in partnership with the ONF and in compliance with the prefectoral decrees in force in the Hérault, no fires will be made during the course in view of the high fire risk) and erect your shelter

You do not need to have taken part in the Awareness or Initiation course before.
