Practical information
A 3-hour boat tour departing from Nice, including 2 snorkelling stops at Cap Mala and in the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer.
- Boat tour along the coast from Nice to Cap Mala, calling at Villefranche-sur-Mer, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Èze
- Snorkelling stops in clear, warm waters (24 to 28°C) teeming with fish, starfish and sea urchins
- Professional supervision by diving instructors who will be with you in the water
Course of events
Please allow approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes for the whole experience.
- Meeting with your guide at the Chango Diving centre in the port of Nice
- Equipment in the centre (where snorkelling gear is handed out and, if required, full-body wetsuits and lifejackets are provided), where you can leave your personal belongings if necessary
- Boarding the boat opposite the base
- Departure for a boat tour lasting around 3 hours:
- sailing to the first snorkelling spot at Cape Mala (about 50 minutes)
- equipment check and safety briefing before gradually entering the water, followed by a few short exercises to get comfortable in the water for 5 minutes
- guided snorkelling lasting around 20 minutes, followed by 25 to 30 minutes of independent snorkelling around the boat
- return on board the boat, then sailing to the second snorkelling spot in the harbour of Villefranche-sur-Mer (around 30 minutes)
- new guided snorkelling lasting around 20 minutes, followed by 25 to 30 minutes of independent snorkelling around the boat
- return to the port of Nice (about 10 minutes)
- Back at the port of Nice: disembarkation, returning equipment to the base and end of the activity
Activity requirements
All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.
All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Written parental authorisation is required for minors between 14 to 18 years old to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.
Special terms
The activity is not recommended for pregnant people over 3 months or for people with back or heart problems.
The boat is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Participants who wear glasses can bring their own mask adapted to their eyesight. Otherwise, please ask your optician if you wish to wear contact lenses during the activity.
People wishing to take part in the outing as a companion, without taking part in the launch, pay the same price as the participants.
Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.

With its clear, warm waters in summer (24 to 28°C), teeming with marine life, the French Riviera offers some excellent snorkelling spots along its stunning coastline. However, to access the very best of these spots, you will need to set off by boat rather than staying on the shores of the busy seaside resorts. That is why the team of Chango Diving is offering this boat tour from Nice, giving you the chance to explore the seabed around Cap Mala and the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer with fins, a mask and a snorkel! As well as visiting snorkelling sites accessible only by sea, you will have the chance to be accompanied by diving instructors who will show you where to look underwater so you don’t miss a thing.
Setting off from the port of Nice, you’ll first enjoy a pleasant boat trip along the coast: you will pass by the harbour of Villefranche-sur-Mer, the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula and its villas, the village of Éze, and more. You are sure to be amazed by this coastal scenery all the way to your first snorkelling stop at Cap Mala. You will enter the water alongside the instructors, then be able to swim independently while they keep an eye on you from the boat. A fish identification guide will also be provided if you are interested. You will then head off for a second snorkelling stop, this time in the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, at a depth of between 2 and 6 metres. With refreshments and discoveries to enjoy, you are sure to have a brilliant time on this excursion!
