The Guillera Gorges, carved out by the River Têt, lie at the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees. They form a small granite setting, which includes this canyoning route offered by Canyon Canigou, just a few minutes’ drive from Prades and less than an hour’s drive from Perpignan. So if you fancy cooling off this summer, whilst having fun and without going to the beach, this activity is perfect for you! Whilst canyoning in the Guillera Gorges, you will let the current carry you along, swim and jump into water at a temperature ranging between 17 and 23°C, and tackle other fun obstacles such as 2 zip lines, a 15-metre-high abseil and even a short via ferrata section (a 25-metre handrail with a few steps).
One of the highlights of this canyoning route in the Guillera Gorges is its accessibility. Indeed, it is open to anyone aged 10 or over who can swim well and requires no previous canyoning experience. It is therefore an ideal outing for families and groups of friends who want to try their hand at this unmissable white-water sport in the Pyrenees! The activity is run in small groups of up to 8 participants, led by a state-qualified instructor who ensures everyone’s safety throughout the adventure. Each participant will be provided with all the equipment needed for canyoning (neoprene wetsuit, helmet and harness), including a pair of shoes specially designed for the sport.
In total, you will spend around 3 hours canyoning in the Gorges de la Guillera, a must-visit canyoning spot in Rodès. So if this sounds like something you would like to try, don’t wait any longer and book your adventure with the team at Canyon Canigou, based in Clara-Villerach!
