Located in the north-east of the Occitanie region, the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park is packed with caves, making it an extraordinary place to discover caving near Montpellier. Caving in the caves of the Grands Causses is a much more advanced activity than a simple cave visit, allowing you to embark on an adventure into the subterranean world of the Hérault region, equipped with a special overall, headlamp and helmet. In all, around 2 hours of exploration await you!
Your state-qualified caving instructor will be waiting for you at Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, just 40 minutes from Montpellier. He will be with you all the way through this introduction to caving in a cave in the Grands Causses to ensure your safety, while sharing his knowledge of the underground world of the Hérault region: galleries with more or less wide passages and impressive concretions will be part of the experience!
You won't just have to walk to discover caving near Montpellier, you will also have to crawl, slide and climb your way through the cave, which will open up a unique world of its own!
