A 1.5-hour introductory surfing lesson at Seignosse, starting from the Penon Beach.

Discovery activity suitable for absolute beginners
Convenient and safe from a corner of the beach, away from the crowds
Group lessons with a ratio of 8 students to 1 instructor, ideal for monitoring the progress of each participant

Course of events

Please allow up to 2 hours for the whole experience.

Meeting with the instructor at the Small Surf School truck in the free car park on Penon Beach, 20 minutes before the start of the activity (dry toilets on site - ⚠️ the meeting point may change depending on the weather and tide)
Introduction to the instructor and the course of the activity
Distribution of surf equipment and fitting of wetsuits, with the option of leaving your personal belongings safely in the truck
Short walk to the surf spot
Start of the 1.5-hour surf lesson :
- first part on the sand: safety instructions, organisation of the session, detailed explanations on how to catch waves and straighten up successfully (approx. 20 minutes)
- second part in the water: first waves, following the advice of the instructor, who is also in the water
Walk back to the truck with a debriefing of the session
De-equipment and end of the activity (please note that there are no showers on the beach at Seignosse)

About the activity

On the Atlantic coast, the Landes region is renowned for having some of the best surf spots in mainland France, if not Europe. So if you would like to try your hand at this sport for the very first time or improve your skills, don't miss out on a surf lesson in Seignosse, and more specifically on the Penon Beach, where the Small Surf School awaits you! This small-scale school, run by a state-qualified instructor, aims to teach you to surf in small groups, either in group lessons with a maximum of 8 students for 1 instructor, or in private lessons for 1 to 4 participants. You will benefit from personalised coaching, and what's more, the instructor will be in the water beside you to watch you closely and share his expert advice directly with you.

Each of these surf lessons in Seignosse lasts 1.5 hours, with a short introductory session on the sand, followed by pure practice in the water. You will be kitted out with high-quality equipment (new DEEPLY full-body wetsuits and wide, strong, lightweight Softech surfboards), giving you all the comfort you need for safe surfing.
