While rafting on the Guisane River is done in groups of 6 to 8 participants sharing the same raft, with a professional instructor acting as captain, cano-rafting is practised in pairs aboard an inflatable craft that is a cross between a raft and a canoe. You and your partner must manoeuvre your cano-raft on your own, under the supervision of an instructor who will be on the water in their own craft. It is therefore essential to be in sync with your partner so you can coordinate and successfully tackle the rapids along the way! Whether it is with your other half, a family member, or a friend, are you ready to take on the cano-rafting challenge on the Guisane River at Serre Chevalier?
This white-water adventure will take you along a 5 km stretch of the river for 1 hour and 15 minutes, moving between calm sections and class II to III rapids. Equipped with all the gear you need for both the activity and your safety, your duo will navigate from Les Guibertes to Chantemerle, along a section that is perfect for discovering cano-rafting near Briançon, blending thrills with some stunning scenery. You will experience the Alpine surroundings of the region in a truly unique way, getting your adrenaline fix while cooling off through the easy-to-intermediate rapids. And the requirements to take part couldn't be simpler: you just need to be able to swim and be at least 10 years old! Even without any prior white-water experience, cano-rafting on the Guisane River poses no particular difficulty, and you won’t even feel cold despite the river water being 8°C, thanks to your wetsuit.
So what are you waiting for? Discover cano-rafting at Serre Chevalier and make your way down the Guisane River, in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes!
