Experience an extraordinary expedition in the Verdon, combining packraft on the Lac de Castillon and an electric mountain bike ride from Castellane!
Sporty, but completely accessible if you are in good physical condition, this day out combining electric mountain biking and packraft discovery on Lac de Castillon is not to be missed in the Verdon. Departing from Castellane, you will climb on the saddle of an electrically assisted mountain bike and follow a guide who will lead you along the Verdon Lakes circuit, towards the Lac de Castillon, passing alongside the Lac de Chaudanne and the Hameau de Ville, a superb viewpoint of the region. A total of 6 hours of outdoor adventure awaits you!
In a group of no more than 7 participants, you will enjoy an electric mountain bike and packraft excursion in the Verdon that is not only friendly but also full of discoveries about the region's history and heritage thanks to your guide, who will be delighted to share his knowledge with you. Once you have arrived at Lac de Castillon, you will take to the water in a packraft, a type of ultra-light inflatable boat halfway between a kayak and a raft. Each of you will paddle to the Tipi island in your own boat and enjoy the turquoise waters of the lake, which you can swim in if you wish!
Combining a water-based activity with a land-based one, this electric mountain bike excursion in the Verdon with packraft on the Lac de Castillon will give you a superb day out in the heart of magnificent scenery!
- Meeting with the instructor at the Buena Vista Rafting base in Castellane (private car park on site)
- Welcome over coffee with a presentation of your guide and the day's programme
- Get to grips with the equipment (electric mountain bike and packraft) and preparation of your individual packs
- Set off on your electric mountain bike to reach the Lac de Castillon via the Lakes circuit, stopping off at the Hameau de Ville on the way to enjoy the view
- Launch of the packrafts on the Lac de Castillon to sail to the Ile du Tipi
- Picnic break on the Ile du Tipi (or elsewhere, as you prefer)
- Exploration of the lake by packraft in the early afternoon, with a swim if you wish
- Return by electric mountain bike to the base in Castellane, arriving at around 4.30 - 5 p.m., return of equipment and end of the activity
Activity requirements
Minimum height: 4ft9 / 150 cm
All participants must know how to swim and ride a bike to take part in this activity.
Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.
