Discover the Atlantis-like ruins of the sunken city of Epidaurus on this unique sea kayaking tour in Epidaurus from Yialasi Beach! No prior paddling experience is required.

Epidaurus is one of the most popular archaeological sites in Greece. A UNESCO World Heritage Site situated northeastern side of the Peloponnese, in the region of Argolis, Epidaurus (Palaia Epidavros and Nea Epidavros) is most well known for its 4th-century amphitheatre and neighbouring healing centre. The sunken city is located in the harbour city near Yialasi Beach. During this sea kayaking tour in Epidaurus from Yialasi Beach, you'll paddle across the crystal-clear Aegean Sea and witness the mysterious ruins that lie beneath the sand!

Your adventure begins at Yialasi Beach where you'll be greeted by your experienced instructor. After a safety and itinerary briefing, you and your group (a maximum of 20 people) will receive your life jackets and paddles. Then, your instructor will provide an introduction to sea kayaking and paddling techniques. Once everyone is comfortable, the fun starts! You'll set off, paddling with confidence, towards the sunken city of Epidaurus, taking in the stunning panorama as you go.

The ruins of the sunken city are located approximately 50 metres (164 feet) off-shore with a maximum depth of 10 metres (33 feet), although it is more shallow in some places. You can swim or snorkel over the remains of both square and round buildings of the ancient city with the Aegean Sea's crystal-clear waters providing maximum visibility. Throughout the tour, your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating facts about this region's ancient history.

The next stop on your sea kayaking tour is the Epidavros Amphitheatre, which dates back to the 4th century BC and could host over 2,000 spectators! Fresh sea air, history, and incredible scenery do wonders for the appetite. You'll be treated to a delicious lunch and refreshments made with local and organic products, all cultivated in the region according to ancient traditions. The perfect way to end such an amazing day in Greece! You'll return to the original departure point at Yialasi Beach, happy with your sea kayaking tour in Epidaurus.

Nous avons adoré l’activité. La mer était magniique et les ruines impressionnantes. George a été un excellent guide. Il a répondu à toutes nos questions ce qui nous a aussi permi d'en apprendre plus sur la vie quotidienne dans les environs. Je recommande.

We had a fantastic time kayaking with George! We learned a lot about the area and it was neat to see the underwater ruins. It was wonderful to get out on the water and see the beautiful landscape from that viewpoint. The equipment was great and we were pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous photos and videos George took and shared with us! This was a favorite activity for my family during a week-long trip to Greece, of which we loved every minute! Highly recommend!
