This is a magnificent attraction located at the southernmost tip of the Attica Peninsula.
Cape Sounion is most famous for the ancient Greek temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea, which stands atop a sheer cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea. It was built in the 5th century and is constructed entirely of marble from nearby quarries in Agrilesa. One of the main attractions of the Temple of Poseidon is its breathtaking location, which offers amazing panoramic views of the surrounding coastline.
