Discover the pine forest of Sithonia and the village of Parthenonas starting from Neos Marmaras in beautiful Halkidiki. Enjoy the views of Toroneos Gulf and Kelifos island while passing by olive trees.

Activity
A 5-hour hiking tour taking you to some of Halkidiki’s finest spots. From April to October, a circular route of 11,5 km will reveal the beauty of northern Greece to the most adventurous spirits. Discover the well-known Neos Marmaras, pass by Sithonia forest and admire the views of Kelifos island and Toroneos Gulf.

Location
You will find yourself at the biggest village of Sithonia, Neos Marmaras, also referred to as the cosmopolitan centre of Sithonia. When passing by the forest, you will encounter many pine trees and an old watermill. The view of Kelifos island, also known as the “turtle”, (you’ll understand why), and Toroneos Gulf will leave you speechless.

Don’t forget you’ll visit the traditional settlement of Parthenonas, 6km up the mountain from Neos Marmaras. The previously abandoned ghost town is now a bit more vivid, with restored houses, tavernas and a café-bar.

What to expect
You will start your hiking in Neos Marmaras village, at your prearranged meeting point and at the prearranged time.

Following a narrow path, you will come across small streams and an old watermill, where you will rest. Ascending about 2,5 km you will explore the fauna surrounding you, which includes plenty of oak trees and pines. Finally, you will admire the view of Toroneos Gulf once you arrive at the traditional settlement of Parthenonas: you will sit back, breath in the fresh air and relax.

For your return, you will follow a different route filled with olive trees!
