Take a half-day boat trip from Sainte-Rose to discover the Grand Cul-de-sac marin Nature Reserve in Guadeloupe!
In the north of Guadeloupe, the Grand Cul-de-sac marin Nature Reserve is a vast bay enclosed by a coral reef and islets and is home to a wealth of preserved flora and fauna. A visit by boat from Sainte-Rose, with a snorkeling break, is a must on the island, and what's more with a captain who knows the reserve like the back of his hand, so he can not only tell you all about its legends, but also share his knowledge of the environment of this protected natural area.

Aboard a flat-bottomed boat that can go into corners unexplored by others, you will be immersed in the heart of the mangrove, an astonishing ecosystem that is a veritable refuge for fish and a protector of the coastline. The trip continues up a mysterious river, the stuff of Guadeloupean legends, and then you will have the chance to explore underwater life at 2 snorkelling stops: one near the roots of mangrove trees (a protective refuge for fish), and one above a wreck, a shelter for fish close to the coral reef. Your escapade will end with your feet in the water, on an islet where the captain will offer you a homemade planter or a fruit juice.
In a small group of no more than 12 passengers, you will board a comfortable boat with cushioned seating, a sundeck and a removable roof that is ideal for protection from the sun: all you have to do is make yourself comfortable on board and listen to the captain's commentary while enjoying the superb setting of the Grand Cul-de-sac marin Nature Reserve!

- Meeting with the captain in front of the Blue Lagoon hut in the port of Sainte-Rose (ample free parking for your car)
- Boarding of the boat and briefing during the trip, then first stop in front of the îlet Blanc without disembarking
- Sailing and exploration in the heart of the mangrove swamp
- Ascend a mysterious river where you will be told local tales and legends
- First snorkelling stop near mangrove islets, in the white seabed to observe the underwater life (fish nursery and family of echinoderms such as sea urchins, starfish, etc.)
- Second snorkelling stop above a shipwreck
- Tasting a homemade planteur or fruit juice as you disembark on a dreamy islet before returning to the port of Sainte-Rose

On site, you will be asked to pay the captain the Barnier tax (1€ per person), which is compulsory for entry to the Guadeloupe National Park.
