The 7 waterfalls, also known as the Tamarin Falls, are undoubtedly one of the most spectacular natural sites in Mauritius. Located in the north of the Black River Gorges National Park, they offer the opportunity to spend a beautiful half-day hiking in the fresh air!

The hike to the Tamarin Falls starts with a path that allows you to descend into the gorge, to the first waterfall of 40 meters high that will surprise you with the view offered at the top. The rest of the hike will take place at the foot of the waterfall, where you will be able to pass behind the waterfall: a breathtaking spectacle awaits you when the sunlight reflects on the waterfall! And if you feel like it, you can even take a dip in the large pool at the foot of the waterfall to cool off.

The hike continues by going around another waterfall of a dozen meters. The view of the 40 meters waterfall will become even more beautiful as you move away. You will then go around another waterfall of about 20 meters and reach another pool where the swimming is very pleasant after the walk.

The hike will finally end above a large waterfall of 55 meters offering a breathtaking view of the gorge. You will then undoubtedly want to discover more about the Tamarin Falls and the Black River Gorges National Park, sites that are not to be missed in Mauritius!

Les cascades sont tres belles et cette randonnee nous a permis de decouvrir une autre facette de cette ile sublime. La balade est assez physique, de bonnes chaussures sont absolument necessaires.

Une randonnée super chouette accompagnée par notre guide Gayan qui nous a dévoilé toutes les beautés du site, qui nous a gâtés avec une délicieuse pause fruits et qui nous a guidés pour la prise de photos et ce malgré une météo pluvieuse.

We did the half day waterfall hike, which for us was perfect. The hike was tougher than were were expecting. Though not a huge amount of distance was covered, the descents and ascents are pretty steep and tricky. The waterfalls are beautiful and being able to swim in several of them was brilliant. This is a must see for anyone staying in Mauritius.

La météo n'était pas favorable au départ puisqu'il pleut ait. Mais nous ne nous sommes pas découragés et avons découvert un lieu magnifique, avons pu profiter des belles cascades. Steeve, qui nous a accompagné nous a transmis tellement de belles informations sur la flore alentour, l'histoire et l'amour de son île que nous en revenons le cœur incroyablement enchanté.
