Course of events
Please allow 2 hours and 30 minutes on-site for the entire experience.
- Meeting and welcome at the central Tromsø departure point
- Scenic transfer along the coastal road toward Ersfjord
- Arrival at the traditional boathouse and stepping into survival flotation suits
- Safety briefing and orientation on water entry and floating balance
- Guided Arctic floating session drifting weightlessly on the waters of Ersfjord with photos
- Equipment removal

Located on Kvaløya, approximately 30 minutes from Tromsø city centre, Ersfjord is one of the region's most beautiful fjords. Framed by steep mountains and expansive waters, this peaceful fjord offers a spectacular setting for an outdoor adventure. The surrounding landscape changes character throughout the seasons, from snow-covered mountain slopes in winter to the softer colours of the Arctic summer, allowing you to experience the natural scenery and tranquillity of the fjord.
Your experience begins with departure from Tromsø city centre, followed by a scenic drive of approximately 30 minutes to Ersfjord on Kvaløya. Upon arrival, you'll meet your guide and receive your specially designed floating suit, which features integrated flotation panels to help keep you warm and cosy, allowing you to enjoy the experience without needing to swim. Once ready, you will head onto the water and enjoy a peaceful floating experience surrounded by the impressive mountains and natural scenery of Ersfjord!
Your guide will also take photographs during the experience, giving you the opportunity to keep a visual memory of your time on the water. Depending on the conditions along the way, you may also have the chance to see the Frozen Arctic Waterfall, adding another scenic highlight to your visit. Take in the mountain scenery, enjoy the stillness of the surroundings and experience the sensation of weightlessness in the Arctic waters!
Once back on shore, you will continue to a distinctive boathouse by the fjord, where you will relax with a snack and a choice of warm or cold drinks to refresh. After enjoying this cosy break, your experience comes to an end, and you will make your way back to Tromsø.
