Located in the county of Troms, less than an hour from Narvik, Gratangen is a small municipality in Northern Norway defined by its picturesque landscapes, the fjord from which it takes its name, and its breathtaking mountains. In winter, it experiences full Arctic conditions and is covered in snow, making it the perfect setting for a dog sledding expedition! To fully enjoy this incredible and quintessential winter activity in the country, the team at Husky Isogaisa invites you to join them at their kennel, nestled right in the heart of nature, only a 35-minute drive from Narvik. Vast open spaces surrounded by stunning scenery await you, as does a pack of Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies that are eager to take you for a ride!
For you to enjoy an unforgettable dog sledding adventure in Gratangen, you will be invited to take the reins of your own team of 4 to 6 huskies and, if your passenger wishes, switch places with them so you can also enjoy the ride sitting comfortably in the sled. You will be guided by an experienced musher throughout the entire experience, ensuring optimal safety from the initial briefing on sled handling until the end of the excursion, when you will have the pleasure of cuddling your new canine friends to thank them. You will then be able to fully immerse yourself in the snowy world around you for 30 to 60 minutes of dog sledding, deep within the forests surrounding the kennel, with views of the nearby mountains.
Finally, to round off this experience in a warm and welcoming way, the team will invite you inside their lavvu, a traditional heated tent where you will have the pleasure of sharing a lunch and some hot drinks. This will be the perfect opportunity for everyone to discuss their impressions of this superb dog sled ride in Gratangen, a must-do outdoor adventure near Narvik!
