Descent of the Bras Rouge Canyon in Cilaos, Reunion Island

A magnificent canyon with basalt walls oozing with iron oxide, the Bras Rouge Canyon offers an incredible setting for an introduction to one of canyoning's must-do activities: abseiling. The course is punctuated by sublime waterfalls to be abseiled over, up to 25 metres high on the Médian course and 30 metres high on the Integral course. You don't have to be afraid of heights to take on this challenge! But if you are looking for a sensational adventure in the heart of the Cirque de Cilaos, the Bras Rouge Canyon obviously has just what you are looking for, on these 2 courses:

• the Médian course (first part of the canyon) - for 3.5 hours, you will be doing a series of jumps up to 6 metres high (all optional), natural slides and 6 abseiling descents, the first of which is 20 metres long and plunges you straight into the activity, while the second offers breathtaking views of a 55-metre high waterfall pierced by the sun's rays;
• the Integral course (full canyon) - following the 3.5 hours on the Médian course, you will spend a further 2 hours canyoning in narrower gorges, with an 'ejector' slide at the end to round off the adventure in style.

For this experience, you will be accompanied by an experienced instructor who will guide you through every obstacle on the course in a friendly manner. They will provide you with all the equipment you need for the activity (wetsuit, helmet, harness, ropes, etc.) and will look after your safety at all times, ensuring that you descend the Bras Rouge Canyon without a hitch, in good spirits.
