Course of events
- Meeting with the guide on the Petit Trou d'Eau beach in La Saline-les-Bains
- Distribution of life jackets and paddles before a briefing on the tour, safety instructions and paddle handling
- Departure for a 1.5-hour guided stand-up paddle excursion in the lagoon of Saint-Gilles
- Arrival on the beach at the end of the excursion, return of equipment and end of the activity
Activity requirements
All participants must know how to swim 25 metres to take part in this activity.
A minimum number of 3 participants is required to run this activity.
For minors taking part in the activity, a registration form including parental authorisation must be completed on site.

L'École de Surf de la Réunion welcomes you to the Petit Trou d'Eau beach, in La Saline-les-Bains, and offers to guide you on a stand-up paddle excursion on the Saint-Gilles lagoon to discover the rich flora and fauna that inhabit Reunion Island's Marine Nature Reserve. After a quick briefing and a few technical tips, you will set off for a 1.5-hour ride on your SUP board following your guide.
The itinerary of your SUP excursion in the Saint-Gilles lagoon will be adapted according to the level of your group and the weather conditions, but you will still have plenty of opportunity to discover the inhabitants of the lagoon and admire Reunion Island's beautiful west coast. If you are lucky, you might even spot a sea turtle!
Accessible from the age of 16, as long as you know how to swim, stand-up paddle on the lagoon of Saint-Gilles is not to be missed if you are looking for a peaceful nautical activity, in the company of a local guide who will be delighted to share his knowledge of the underwater world with you.
