Imagine yourself in the heart of the Julian Alps, navigating the crystal-clear emerald waters of the Soča River, one of the last free-flowing rivers in Europe. In Bovec, Slovenia's undisputed adrenaline capital, the limestone peaks reflect in waters of rare purity, fed by alpine snowmelt. Rafting on the Soča River is not merely a sport; it is a total immersion into a wild ecosystem where the famous Soča trout glide beneath your raft. The route, nestled at the gates of Triglav National Park, takes you through cinematic landscapes, including the exact locations used as backdrops for the film Narnia: Prince Caspian, offering a striking contrast between the power of the rapids and the serenity of the canyons.
This excursion is orchestrated by an exceptional team, founded by six-time world rafting champions. This unique level of expertise translates into absolute safety and a high-standard pedagogical approach for all participants. Your 10 km descent begins near the majestic Boka Falls, standing 106 metres high, before tackling Grade II and III rapids between Srpenica and Trnovo. Equipped with 5mm neoprene wetsuits to brave the freshness of the alpine water, you will learn to coordinate your efforts with your crew to navigate whirlpools and technical obstacles, while enjoying breaks to jump into natural pools or swim in the current.
The experience is designed to be both technical and accessible, with a maximum ratio of 8 participants per guide to ensure personalised supervision. Whether you are a beginner or a thrill-seeker, the equipment provided is of professional quality, including anoraks and neoprene boots for optimal comfort. The highlight of this outing lies in its human element: your guides passionately share local history and the secrets of the valley throughout the adventure, creating a friendly atmosphere enhanced by the small group setting.
The season runs from April to October, with each period offering a different water flow to vary the experience. At the end of the day, you can relax at the base bar while receiving a Google Photos link via email containing the shots of your exploits, delivered the very same evening. Book your rafting excursion on the Soča River in Bovec now and prepare for a memorable adventure in the heart of the Slovenian Alps!
