Practical information
- Arrive at the activity base in Cangas de Onís and meet your guide.
- Receive your canoeing equipment and attend a safety briefing with basic paddling techniques.
- Transfer to the launch point in Arriondas and begin your descent on the Sella River.
- Navigate the river across a 17 km route, stopping at: Toraño (7 km), Fríes (14 km) and Llovio (17 km).
- Enjoy the natural surroundings, medieval architecture, small rapids, and calm river sections throughout the journey.
- From Llovio, transfer back to the base is provided.
- End the activity with access to showers and light refreshments at the base.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be taller than 1.15m

The best way to discover a region considered an untouched paradise, experience dramatic landscapes and unexpected wildlife with canoe rental in Asturias.
The Sella River runs through the autonomous region of Asturias from the Picos de Europa to the Bay of Biscay. This activity starts from the rental base in Arriondas and the endpoint is in Llovio (a few kilometres before Ribadesella).
This activity is suited to all ages and abilities – rental can be organised with 1, 2 and 3 seater canoes available. Whilst completing the full trip to Llovio (4hours) is recommended, groups can choose to stop at Toraño (2 hours) and Fries (3 hours). Guide not included.
