Discover the river Ara in the province of Huesca on this fun and exciting rafting trip!
The Province of Huesca is known to have some of the best rafting spots in Spain. Why? Because it has over 96 lakes and rivers of glacier origin that have channels of pretty much every class of rapids!
Aguas Blancas invites you to embark on a rafting adventure in the rapids of the Ara River in the Ordesa & Monte Perdido National Park. The river has rapids class III and IV and it’s a 7km ride that will last approximately 3 hours of intense drops in a spectacular rugged canyon!
You will meet with the team at Plaza Broto in the village of Broto (Huesca), located less than 30 minutes away from Biescas. You'll receive a briefing about the equipment and safety protocols before going into the water. Once you're ready you'll get all geared up to start your adventure!
Class III: Rapids with moderate, irregular waves which may be difficult to avoid. Strong eddies and powerful current effects can be found, particularly on large-volume Rivers.
Class IV: Intense, powerful but predictable rapids requiring precise boat handling in turbulent water. A fast, reliable eddy turn may be needed to initiate manoeuvres, scout rapids, or rest. Rapids may require “must make” moves above dangerous hazards.
Note: this activity is only available from April to July and the minimum age required is 16.
