Activity description

Try ski mountaineering in the Tena Valley (Huesca) and discover the stunning snowy landscapes hidden off-piste in the Aragonese Pyrenees!

The Aragonese Pyrenees, with 4 ski resorts, is one of the favorite destinations for those who like skiing or snowboarding. But, undoubtedly, the most important and well known is the Formigal-Panticosa resort, in the Tena Valley (Huesca), with 180 skiable kilometers and slopes for all levels. If you already have a good level of skiing and you love the mountains, why not try ski mountaineering? Ski mountaineering or ski touring consists of climbing the mountain on foot following a previously traced route and then, once you reach the top, skiing downhill through virgin off-piste areas! The feeling of freedom is amazing!

To practice ski mountaineering it is essential to have a good level of skiing and to plan the route very well in advance. With the help of Mountain Live Travel instructors there will be nothing to worry about. They will make sure that your first ski touring experience in the Tena Valley is perfect, as they will provide you with the ski equipment that best suits you, they will organize the route according to your level and the amount of snow as well as they will explain you the notions of safety and how to use the arva, the probe and the shovel in case of avalanche in the mountain. After all this, it will be time to get going and start the ski mountaineering tour in the Tena Valley and enjoy the beautiful snowy landscapes and once at the top, slide down the mountain and demonstrate your skiing skills.
