Already experienced in canyoning and looking for your next adventure in the Marbella area? This intermediate canyoning excursion at Zarzalones is perfect for you. Open to anyone aged 9 and above who is in good physical condition and has prior canyoning experience, this outing invites you to explore a scenic gorge at the heart of the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2003.
It is in Yunquera, 1 hour's drive from both Marbella and Málaga, that you'll meet the professional guide who will accompany you for the outing. To start with, your guide will provide quality, regularly inspected canyoning equipment (wetsuit, harness, and helmet), as well as footwear if you choose to hire a pair. You'll then walk to the source of the Río Grande — a large cave from which this river springs. From there, your descent of the Zarzalones canyon begins, lasting approximately 4 hours in a group limited to 8 participants.
Throughout the excursion, you'll follow the riverbed and face a series of obstacles. With the guidance of your certified instructor, you'll tackle each one with confidence, pushing your limits whilst soaking up the exceptional natural setting of the canyon. On the agenda: several optional jumps into natural pools (up to 4 metres), a technical 10-metre abseil descent, and the undisputed highlight of the day — an impressive 21-metre waterfall abseil.
A unique opportunity to explore a wild and unspoilt corner of the Sierra de las Nieves whilst surpassing yourself, this canyoning excursion near Marbella will leave you with wonderful memories of your time in Andalusia. Ready for the adventure? Book now to secure your spot this summer!
