Scuba diving and diving into the depths of the sea is a unique experience. Beyond the traditional snorkelling, scuba diving allows us to discover the marine fauna that lives just a few metres away from where we swim. Spain has several areas where diving is an unforgettable experience due to the great variety of marine species. This is the case in Cadiz, where you will find the Parque Natural del Estrecho, in Tarifa. A natural park of 18,000 hectares of great ecological, scenic and historical value that stretches from the inlet of Getares (Algeciras) to Cabo de Gracia (Tarifa). After knowing the basics, it will be time to experience a dive on the beach or from a boat in which you will reach a maximum depth of 4-7 metres. - Meeting with the instructor at the dive centre.
- Short theory course at the dive site.
- Adaptation to the diving equipment and some exercises to get used to the diving equipment. You will learn how to empty a regulator full of water, how to recover a lost regulator and how to empty a mask full of water.
- Start the dive from the beach or a boat as desired. Duration 40-60 minutes, with a full tank, depending on the client's air consumption.
- Return to the dive centre.
Activity requirements
It is recommended that you know how to swim. If not, please contact the dive centre who will provide a more personalised guide.
For this activity a prior health declaration (document provided by the centre) must be made, assessing that the diver's conditions are suitable.
Special terms
The diving baptism takes place in Tarifa or Algeciras, depending on the weather conditions.
You can choose between boat or shore diving as you wish.
In the case of a confirmed pathology, a hyperbaric medical examination will be required, in which a hyperbaric doctor will verify that the person is fit for underwater activities.
