Explore the beautiful Swedish Fulufjället National Park in Dalarna County on a guided snowshoe adventure! Welcoming adventurers from ages 4 and up.
Dalarna County is a region situated in central Sweden, close to the border with Norway. This area is well known for its pristine natural beauty, with diverse landscapes, steep mountains and stunning lakes. Fulufjället National Park is located in Dalarna County. It is one of Sweden's oldest national parks, established in 2002, and covers an area of about 385 square kilometres (149 square miles). The park is known for its stunning natural beauty, diverse ecosystems, and unique geological features.
The excursion begins at the meeting point in Fulufjället. You will be greeted by the experienced and friendly guide, who will provide the snowshoe equipment. Equipped with your high-quality snowshoes and poles, you’ll be able to easily traverse the snowy terrain of the park. After a brief safety instruction, the adventure begins!
Following the guide, you will walk through a beautiful nature reserve, passing by various types of landscapes. The park is home to extensive areas of pristine old-growth forests, characterised by towering spruce and pine trees. These forests provide a habitat for a variety of wildlife, including bears, wolves, lynx, foxes and rare bird species. You may encounter some wildlife or their tracks in the snow, which the knowledgeable guide will share information about.
Midway through the excursion, you will take a break in the tranquil setting. A delicious traditional Swedish fika (sweet bread) and a cup of hot chocolate, coffee or tea will be served around a roaring campfire. As you enjoy your snack, the guide will continue to share stories about this untouched wilderness area. Don’t forget your camera to capture some unique photos! At the end of your snowshoe hike, you will return to the starting point in Fulufjället.
