Bohuslän is a coastal region located in southwestern Sweden. It is most well known for its stunning archipelago, which stretches across a rugged coastline and is characterised by smooth granite cliffs, sheltered bays, and clear blue waters. On this RIB tour, you’ll explore some of the beautiful islands along the Swedish West Coast.
For this trip, you can choose to depart from Gothenburg or Marstrand. Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden and is located on the country’s west coast. Gothenburg is the gateway to the Bohuslän archipelago. Marstrand is a picturesque island located in the Bohuslän archipelago, approximately 50 kilometres north of Gothenburg. It is one of the larger islands in the archipelago and is known for its natural beauty and historic charm.
To begin, you’ll meet at the starting point in your chosen location (Gothenburg or Marstrand). The experienced guide will greet you and welcome you on board the Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), which seats up to 10 passengers. After a quick safety briefing, the adventure begins! If you start from Gothenburg, the captain will sail first to Marstrand. At Marstrand, you’ll take a scenic route along the archipelago to Käringön and Mollösund.
Käringön is one of the larger islands located in the Bohuslän archipelago. It is known for its scenic beauty, with rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters. Mollösund is a coastal fishing village situated on the island of Orust, another one of the larger islands in the archipelago. The village is surrounded by stunning coastal landscapes and tranquil coves. You’ll stop at each of these islands along the way to enjoy a refreshing ocean swim or have food, drinks or ice cream at one of the local restaurants. After exploring the west coast, you’ll return to the starting point in Gothenburg or Marstrand.
