This tour takes place from Kiruna, a popular destination in Swedish Lapland. Located close to the Arctic Circle, this town in northern Sweden offers beautiful landscapes and excellent conditions for witnessing the awe-inspiring Northern Lights!
To begin, you will meet your guide at the activity base in Kiruna or be picked up from your accommodation within a 20km radius (please specify when booking). Each sled can carry up to 4 passengers - making it perfect for small groups and families. After a quick safety briefing, you will meet the dogs and wrap up for the adventure before you set off into the Arctic Taiga.
Pulled through the snow by 12 powerful Alaskan Huskies, you will travel along wild yet well-maintained tracks in the wilderness. Situated in the high Arctic, the Taiga forests are considered to be one of the best and most reliable places to view the Northern Lights - thanks to the lack of light pollution and the clear night sky. If you're lucky, the world's most stunning natural phenomena will appear in the sky above you.
You will chase the Aurora Borealis across frozen rivers and lakes to a rustic cabin deep in the woods. Here, you'll take a short break for traditional 'Fika' and cookies - a chance to capture this unique dance of colours with the help of the experienced guide. Heading back under the moonlight over the glittering snow and ice, you will travel through the forest to the activity base where you can have a last cuddle with the dogs before your return transport will take you back to your accommodation.
