Activity description

Experience a traditional way of life on this dog sledding and lunch tour in Swedish Lapland from Kiruna. Welcoming adventurers of all ages on this family-friendly excursion!

This tour is run and operated from Kauppinen on the outskirts of Kiruna, a town located in the north of Sweden. Kiruna sits just above the Arctic Circle and beside the borders of both Norway and Finland. This traditional Nordic city is a popular destination for visitors who want to discover the beautiful outdoor nature of Lapland!

Your trip will start by meeting your guide at the activity base in Kiruna, or being picked up from your accommodation within a 20km radius (please specify your location upon booking). To start, you will meet the adorable husky dogs and get them ready for the adventure - learning a few commands before you set off into the Arctic Taiga. For this tour, you have the option of driving the sled yourself or being pulled by the guide. Each sled can fit up to 4 people - perfect for small groups and families!

You will be pulled through the snow by the powerful Alaskan Huskies, travelling along wild yet well-maintained tracks in the wilderness - crossing frozen rivers and lakes to reach a rustic cabin deep in the woods. Here, you'll have a chance to warm up with a traditional Swedish feast - spending time with your pack and enjoying your snowy surroundings on foot. An authentic lunch of reindeer and vegetable soup with hot drinks will be served while you enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. After lunch, you will chase the sunset back through the forest to the activity base where you can have a last cuddle with the dogs before your return transport will take you back to your accommodation.

This discovery tour is a great way to try out dog sledding and experience the natural beauty of the Arctic with a traditional Swedish lunch. Book your next unforgettable adventure from Kiruna now!

It was a wonderful trip with a very nice guide. Everything was explained very well and you found your way around more quickly. The landscape was simply breathtakingly beautiful. The break in a hut in the middle of the snowy forest did us a lot of good.

It was a unique experience to glide through such a beautiful scenery. I led my own sleigh and I thought it was worth it, it is not too difficult!

Zudem durfte man viele Fragen stellen. Danach sind wir die Strecke wieder zurückgefahren

15km with the huskies (alakan and siberian). Food and service from the host was good too. Learned a lot about the dogs. Also each person got his own team of dogs and we can feel that they are close.

This for me was one of those pinch me moments - what an incredible experience - a bit of a shaky start but within moments felt confident So glad we decided to drive our own dogsled

Hundeschlitten-Tour durch das verschneite Lappland. Wunderschöne Wege, tolle Hunde. Sehr leckeres Mittagessen.

I never actually thought I would find myself steering my own sled in a perfectly white landscape. It was something that I didn't know was on my bucket list but I'm glad to have done it.
