Embark on a guided tour with a photographer to witness the enchanting and awe-inspiring Northern Lights in beautiful Kiruna, located in Swedish Lapland. 

Kiruna is a town located in the far north of Sweden, at the gateway to the wonders of Lapland. It is best known as a major mining town, as one of the largest producers of iron ore in the world since the 19th century. The excursion will begin at one of the pick-up destinations (please specify when booking). You will be collected from your hotel in Kiruna in a heated van (groups have a maximum of 8 participants). The experienced tour guides will spend the day before tracking the weather and deciding the best route to take you on that night. The destination and driving distance will depend on the conditions, they will drive wherever is needed to find the clearest sky.

After everyone in the group has been collected, the pursuit of the Northern Lights will begin! You'll be transported to the optimal location in Kiruna, and potentially even to Norway or Abisko if needed. While driving through the Arctic evening, the passionate guides will provide insights into the natural surroundings, sharing information about this unique region. You will discover Lapland's age-old traditions and culture, including information on the Sami people — the last indigenous community in Europe residing in the area. The terrain is also inhabited by a variety of Arctic animals such as reindeer, moose, foxes, hares, and owls. The guides will give you some tricks to help spot them in the nearby natural areas and reserves! 

Upon reaching the best viewpoint, you will leave the van to hopefully see the captivating Aurora Borealis! The guides will make an inviting campfire, and you will enjoy some traditional Swedish cookies, chocolates and hot drinks while marvelling at the Northern Lights.

The skilled photographer equipped with a camera optimised for night photography will capture some professional pictures and videos of you and the Aurora in the sky. All of the photos are included in the tour and will be sent to you by email a few days later. Additionally, the photographer will help you to capture your own photos if you bring your camera, ensuring you preserve this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. After you have enjoyed the campfire, experienced the Northern Lights dancing in the sky, and listened to the stories and myths that surround this natural phenomenon, you will return to your starting point in Kiruna.
