Embark upon an adventure of a lifetime from Strömsund on this private, 3-day husky experience, which includes dog sledding, snowshoeing, and ice fishing. Welcoming adventurers ages 9 and up!
This private, overnight experience promises an adventure of a lifetime including daily guided activities with the huskies, delicious homemade meals around crackling fires, and cosy accommodations in a charming cabin. In addition, you'll have ample time to relax and take in the tranquillity of nature as well as explore the scenic surroundings on your own.
Situated in northern Sweden, the locality of Strömsund (Jämtland County) is known for its stunning landscapes, forests, and lakes. This remote location is ideal for outdoor winter activities and for taking in the incredible natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights. The perfect place for a wilderness excursion like none other!
Your 2-night/3-day adventure begins at the Nordic Husky Farm in Strömsund. Upon your arrival, you and your group (a maximum of 4 people) will be welcomed by your hosts/guides. After you've been shown your cosy cabin, you'll be taken on a tour of the kennel and meet all of the adorable huskies. Then, once you've been given a safety briefing and an introduction to dog sled driving (mushing), the fun starts! You'll set out into the snow-covered wilderness at high speeds and feel the thrill of being pulled by your team of energetic huskies.
The second day includes a snowshoe hike (with a husky for each guest) to a scenic lake, where you'll be treated to an outdoor, campfire lunch. Don't forget your camera, you don't want to miss these incredible photo opportunities! On the final day of your stay, you'll try your hand at ice fishing, a popular local pastime. This area is known for its Arctic char and rainbow trout. You'll be supplied with all of the equipment and your guide/host is happy to share ice fishing tips and techniques. At the end of the excursion, you'll bid farewell to your husky friends, departing with lifelong memories of your time in the winter wonderland of Sweden!
