A supervised 2.5 hour kayak trip on the Rhône, leaving from the centre of Geneva to discover the river's wild biodiversity.
- Enjoy an 8 km descent on a calm class 1 course, fully supervised by a qualified guide.
- Receive full safety equipment, including an individual 24-litre watertight container per boat.
- Experience an activity suitable for beginners and families with children aged 6 and over.
Course of events
Please allow 3 hours for the whole experience.
- Welcome participants at the meeting point at the pointe de la Jonction in Geneva and check registrations
- Distribution of safety equipment and a 24-litre watertight container for personal belongings (15 minutes)
- Equipment adjustment with neoprene shorty and windbreaker available in cooler weather
- Full technical and safety briefing on paddling techniques by a qualified guide (15 minutes)
- Participants board the kayaks and are launched for the start of the descent
- A 2.5 hour trip along an 8 km stretch of the Rhône to discover the local flora and fauna
- Arrive at the landing point at Peney (or at the Pont de l'Autoroute from 1 October) and get out of the water
- Return of technical and safety equipment to the guide
- End of the activity at the finish point (participants are responsible for their own transport back to Geneva).
Activity requirements
You need to be able to swim to take part in this activity.
A written waiver of liability must be signed at the end of the activity.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult in the same kayak.
Special terms
This activity is dependent on weather conditions and the flow of the river, which may lead the guide to modify the itinerary.
The price of the service does not include return transport from the point of arrival: the return journey is to be organised by you (using the regular services of Transports Publics Genevois).
From 1 October, the route will be shortened and will end at the Pont de l'Autoroute in order to respect the downstream migratory bird protection zone.
There is no parking available at the pointe de la Jonction, so we strongly recommend that you take Geneva Public Transport to get to the start.
Pets are not allowed on board.
