About the activity

Drifting peacefully along a majestic river and observing untouched nature on the doorstep of a major European city is a rare opportunity. After flowing through Lake Geneva, the Rhône continues its calm and winding course across the canton of Geneva. Far from the urban bustle, the river reveals a remarkable ecological corridor where unexpected wildlife and plant species thrive along its banks. By joining this guided kayak excursion on the Rhône, you will experience the natural richness of the Geneva region from a unique perspective, combining gentle sport, freshness, and environmental discovery in complete safety.

Your journey begins at La Jonction, an iconic site in Geneva where the Rhône and Arve rivers meet. After being welcomed by the Rafting-Loisirs team, you will be provided with technical equipment adapted to the day’s weather conditions. A qualified instructor will lead the session and deliver a short briefing covering paddle handling, navigation rules, and safety instructions. You will then set off on an 8-kilometre paddle classified as Level 1, ensuring calm waters and a steady pace—ideal for fully enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

This kayaking session near Geneva requires no previous experience, making it perfect for families or groups of friends looking for a relaxing shared activity. As the river flows through protected areas, including bird conservation zones downstream, each paddle stroke offers the chance to observe local wildlife. For your comfort, you will be provided with a buoyancy aid and a 24-litre waterproof barrel to safely store your personal belongings during the trip. The route ends in Peney or at the motorway bridge, depending on the season, allowing you flexibility for your return journey.

This nature experience runs from May to October, carefully adapted to local wildlife protection cycles late in the season. Book your Rhône kayak descent now and get ready to explore Geneva’s hidden ecological treasures!
