Learn more about Mafate Helicopteres
Mafate Helicopteres takes you to discover the unique landscapes of Reunion Island from the air on board their helicopters!
Mafate Hélicoptères was created in 2002 by the pilot and entrepreneur André Bègue, a native of the Cirque de Mafate in Reunion Island, whose objective was to open up the Cirque de Mafate. Located in the north of the island, this cirque is an inaccessible, unique and protected area that is only accessible on foot or by helicopter. So in 2008, the Civil Aviation Authority issued André with his air carrier licence, allowing him to carry out public transport of passengers and thus help the Mafatais!
Mafate Hélicoptères now provides 90% of the supply in the cirque and was taken over by Mathieu, André Bègue's son, in 2010. The company is growing and, for some years (since 2015), has now been offering helicopter flights to enable travellers on Reunion Island to access the splendid Cirque de Mafate! 2 helicopters provide the flights: 2 state-of-the-art AS 350 B3e squirrels, F-OXMH and F-OMAB. They will be waiting for you at the Mafate Helicopters hangar at Saint-Pierre/Pierrefonds Airport, where there is a waiting room with water, coffee and hot chocolate available, as well as toilets.
With accessibility, mutual aid and safety as fundamental values, you can be sure to experience unforgettable helicopter flights in Reunion Island thanks to Mafate Hélicoptères!
