Baie-Mahault: What to do when you get there ?

Discover the activities to do in Baie-Mahault! Located opposite Pointe-à-Pitre and Les Abymes, Baie-Mahault is one of the busiest cities in Guadeloupe!

Baie-Mahault is the first town in Basse-Terre to be reached by road and is bordered by the Rivière Salée, which separates the islands of Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre. It faces the Grand Cul-de-sac marin nature reserve to the north, and the Petit Cul-de-sac marin bay to the south, home to the islets Feuille, Chasse, Boissard and à Cochons. As a result, there are plenty of water sports activities to do in Baie-Mahault!

The Baie-Mahault marina, to the north of the town, allows you to go on a catamaran cruise in the Grand Cul-de-sac marin bay to discover its famous coral reef and its islets, as well as the coastline of the communes of Lamentin in Basse-Terre and Morne-à-l'Eau in Grande-Terre. The more adventurous can choose to go canoeing to admire the mangroves around Mahault Bay for themselves, and those looking for a thrill can try water-skiing, wakeboarding, or even e-foil, an amazing activity!

In the city, you will find towards the north, in the Birmingham district, sugar cane fields among which you can take a little stroll. Between the quieter districts and the more active districts such as Jarry, Baie-Mahault is a commune whose geographical location is convenient if you want to visit Guadeloupe while staying in one place. Its proximity to Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet airport is also advantageous.

Despite its lack of beaches, Baie-Mahault is still a town in Guadeloupe that is worth a visit, especially if you like water sports, which the calm waters of Mahault Bay allow you to do in complete peace!
